Ideas to Move More

Parents: Encourage your kids to spend at least 30 minutes in physical activity every day:

 

-       Play with your child at a local park or playground. 

 

-       Encourage your child to play outside and play with them (e.g. basketball, kickball, football, etc.).

 

-       Ride bicycles with your child.

 

-       Attend and support your child’s school sporting activities/events.

 

-       Give your child the option to walk with you to a local store or restaurant.

 

-       Walk with your child at a local walking trail or in a neighborhood or mall.

 

-       Support your child! Encourage them when they want to be physically active.

 

-       Be a role model! If your child sees you eating smart and participating in physical activities regularly, he or she will be more likely to do the same.
